Mission Statement

African Resource Center
Mission Statement

The mission of ARC is to empower and amplify the voices of the African community for the betterment of the whole community.

African Resource Center's goals are:

  • Gathering and disseminating data and policy research on education, health, housing, immigration, employment, human rights, language access to LEP clients and other issues that affect the African immigrants in Washington Metropolitan area and at the National level.

  • Conducting grass root policy advocacy with collaboration of similar organizations on the issues concerning to African immigrants.

  • Capacity building for African immigrant community-based organizations through training, collaborations, mediations and sharing information for fundraising.

  • Educating and collaborating with similar organizations to defend the rights of African immigrant community

  • Educating and disseminating information to African immigrant community the importance of voting rights and civics participation in the United States.

  • Working with government officials and community based organizations to establish African Commission in the District of Columbia.
